A Fateful Journey
They're On A Boat!

Alice and Claudius had a moment together at the beginning of the day. They talked about he confusing and yet seemingly shared vision they had with Dr. Funnaps. Alice revealed her connection and gave a short history about the [[Sister's of the Fey]]. Claudius revealed that the man in the vision was his father and he has been searching for other relatives for some time now.

After their chat, Eglantine and the rest of the group made its way to the docks and hopped passage on a mail ship, the Gloomy Grouper, captained by Captain Steve, a lively and exceedingly acrobatic gnome.

He informed the group that touching any of the mail would result in their immediate removal from the boat, surprisingly everyone seemed to respect that request.

Other member's of Captain Steve's crew included, His Hlf-Orc Lieutenant Grull, Ox a human sailor, Ashlen an elven sailor and Emmit a dwarf sailor.

After learning more about the crew and their "closeness" as a team, and Emmit, using his special Silver Thimbles, plopped down the last bag of mail, the ship got underway.

The first day went rather smoothly, but a black letter with a white seal of Shal-Tarak disconcerted some of the group. Over a dinner conversation with the captain he assured them that there was nothing he could do about the letter, but he would not stop them following it to its final destination.

In the middle of the night, the ship was suddenly attacked by a Drow raiding vessel. It closed in on them fast, but an Air Elemental, conjured by Alice, slowed the ship and almost swamped it. Unfortunately it drew in close, firing its cannons all the way, unfortunately taking Ox with one of their volleys.

The group fought valiantly. Brother Lighav threw himself onto the other ship and took out numerous drow sailors. Claudius reined down lighting from the sky after shattering a hole in the middle of the boat. Alice's Elemental reeked havoc while she set the pirates boat on fire. Claire kept lookout and demolished a number of pirates with his magic missiles. Byron, in the confusion of battle managed to steal the Silver Thimbles from Emmit.

Gus, who early on flew into the ship to look for prisoners came out just as the Drow pirate captain beheaded Ashlen, whom he had spent the previous night with.

He threw the Pirate Captain into a confused state causing him to fall overboard and drown.

After the carnage Lighav, Alice and Claire searched the vessel. Lighav freed a Drow prisoner, They-Marten, who was carried back to their ship by Claire.

Lighav and Alice then looted as much as they could, taking a number of odd objects, but the most interesting one was a black wooden box with white ivory inlay and a white ivory crest.

Inside they found blueprints to Glennfordshire Castle, a buttload of Lanterns, and Drow Dark Cloaks.

After scuttling the boat the group questioned this worn out Drow, They-Marten. He revealed that he is a member of the Nordrowen. They are followers of Hargash who preaches peace and wisdom. Unlike the Sudrowen, who worship the hateful and evil Shal-Tarak

He promised to help them, as much as he could, for saving his life.

After a small funeral for Ashlen and Ox, the group rested. In the wee hours of the morning the Gloomy Grouper made its way into a small cove where Korra Bluenettle was waiting.

She lead them to Keebler's, a tavern hidden in a tree.

A Necessary Rescue
That Milk Haired Bitch

The group, after a short conversation with Vondrax, made their way to the Northern road to seek out some Hammermen the Mayor said had been raiding along that road.

They murdered a whole bunch of bandits very quickly, causing one young man to shift his allegiance. He readily gave up all the information he had about his commrads in hopes of the group sparing his life. After some bickering in the party, Brother Lighav gave the kid an out. He convinced the young man his life would be better spent in service to Gaius and the young man readily agreed to go to Throst and devote his life to the temple of Libra.

After that encounter the group made its way to the Hammermen's Hideout. They took out the entrance guards by convincing them that they were returning Hammermen with prisoners.

They then got into a bloody fight with the rest of the Hammermen in their cave, killing them all. After a search of the area they found a well used and decently furnished hideout. There were quite a few items of interest that these bandits had filched off of unwary travelers and quite a large amount of gold.

In a back room they found a map detailing the area around Falconcliff where the best spots for banditry lay.

In a small dirty jail cell the group met Eglantine. Her curt and abrasive manner didn't go over very well but the group ultimately freed her.

The last portion of the hideout was a well furnished commanders' room. It seemed that someone had left in quite a hurry leaving only a few personal effects behind and their shrine to Shal-Tarak

After Brother Lighav destroyed the shrine, the group was met at the entrance to the cave by a White Haired Drow woman, we now know as Shey-Gethral. They fought hard and seemed to kill her, but a golden liquid reattached her severed head.

Before she disappeared in a cloud of smoke she told the group "The mind's eye will be completed. There is nothing you can do to stop it. Sweet Dreams."

The group made their way back to Falconcliff and revealed all they knew to Vondrax. He told them that the Mind's Eye was a children's morality tale. Something about not manipulating your friends. he an Eglantine urged the group to travel to Crannor to find out more and hopefully take out the evil queen, Helena.

They all agreed and went to rest for their journey.

Dr. Funnaps' Fantastic Hypnosis Show
The Creepiest Show On Earth

Each of our heroes found themselves in the port town of Falconcliff. While going about their errands and various business, they came into possession of a green pamphlet with purple writing. It invited them to Dr. Funnaps Fantastic Hypnosis Show.

At the show Dr. Funnaps invited them all onstage where he hypnotized them sending them into a a void.

Smoke tentacles sprouted from the ground but were fended off. Dr. Funnaps began to complain about the adventurers' still beating hearts and roiled the world to send nightmare after nightmare at them.

A facsimile of Queen Helena holding a man by the throat appeared. She screamed at him to tell her where the girls are but when he refused she tore his throat out.

Once defeated, a blind man with a sword, whom Byron recognized, appeared in smoke form. He was eventually defeated but was quickly replaced by the image of a Gnomish woman who was descended upon and devoured by a large humanoid bird that turned out to look exactly like Claire's old master.

The group overcame this last monstrosity and were freed from the void, but not before Dr. Funnaps ripped something from their minds.

When everyone awoke, they realized that everyone else in the bar was dead.

Soon after, Mayor Vondrax entered the bar and begged them to help him. This mass death isn't the first time it has happened. The group learned that Mayor Vondrax had sent his Vizier of Justice, Eglantine to find out more about what was going on. The one problem though, She was captured by the Hammermen on her way back to Falconcliff.
